It’s not uncommon for students preparing for competitive exams to be on edge about the test. Everything from finding the right coaching class to finding the right amount of time to invest in preparing for a test can be overwhelming especially when you are preparing for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). This test is extremely competitive with 47,750 students appear for the test in the year 2018. However, if you are well prepared, then you can crack the CLAT exam 2019 test.

Let’s take a look at the necessary information about CLAT 2019.

CLAT 2019 will be an offline multiple choice type test and will comprise 200 questions. Each question will be allocated one mark each, and you will lose 0.25 marks for all wrong answers. You will have a total of 2 hours to complete the test.

The CLAT 2019 syllabus is as follows:

For UG Law Programs:
English
General Knowledge
Legal Aptitude
Logical Reasoning
Mathematics.

For PG Law Programs:
Jurisprudence
Law of Torts
Criminal Law
Family Law
International Law
Property Law
Intellectual ...
... Property Law
Law of Contracts

With the basics of the exam out of the way, let’s focus on some tips that you can utilise during your CLAT preparation:

Short Time Intervals
If you think studying for 6 hours without any breaks will result in you receiving an amazing score in the test, you are far from the truth. Studies have suggested that long study hours can lead to mental fatigue. Therefore, the best course of action is to study in short intervals. For example, study for 45 minutes and take a 10 minutes break.

However, it’s also vital that you utilise this break efficiently. Take this time to visit the washroom, get something to eat, and unwind by doing something you enjoy.

Prioritising
Prioritising is where the magic begins. Once you have an idea of your strong and weak areas, you can choose to polish each of them by allotting the right amount of time to each subject. For example, if you struggle with logical reasoning questions then allocate more time to doing logical reasoning type questions. In the same lines, if you have a strong base in English and Mathematics, then you can get away with allotting relatively less time studying these.

Mock Test
Mock Tests are one of the best ways to analyse your strengths and weaknesses. You must try to attempt at least one mock test daily. However, once you have taken the test, you must also invest time to analyse it thoroughly. This will, in turn, help you to master the art of time management. Sticking to the time limit in mock tests will help you to get habituated to the examination pattern.

Relax
It’s important that you avoid procrastination and work hard to ace the CLAT 2019. However, it’s also essential to de-stress from time to time. Therefore, ensure that you take the time you need to unwind and relax. Take the time to work out, do yoga or meditate every day to help you stay focused but relaxed.

There you have it, the basic tips you need to ace the CLAT entrance exam 2019. All the best!
