Tips To Start The Year Right

Let us start the year right!

Every day is a new opportunity to reach your goal/s. A year is composed of 365 days which means 365 opportunities along the way. It has been more than 50 days since 2019 begun and so far I have been very positive that I can reach my mission to see myself, my family and our finances growing simultaneously.

So, what have I started at the start of the year?

A.Eating healthier - Our family has a history of Diabetes. It is a group of metabolic disorder in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period. A lot of people have been suffering this and some even have lifetime medications. This year, I will make sure that I will not overdo eating foods that are unhealthy especially sweets and processed food. Eating right will be on top of my priority to have good health throughout the year.

B. Read, Learn and Play with my sons- Last year have been so busy that I almost have less time to play with my sons. At the start of the year, I have been consistently bringing them to the beach once a week (lucky for us since the beach is just a 15 minutes drive!). I have been reading lots of books with them too and I think I already memorized the book, “My Puppy”. My sons are growing bigger every day and I just want to make and cherish every moment that they are still hyperactive toddlers and they still need and call “Daddy” all the time. I am just happy that aside from building memories, I also build trust, shape their behavior and most of all, make them feel loved, secured and important.

C. Start my online journey- I have been hearing and reading lots of great opportunities for working online. This year, I decided to join the bandwagon and become your virtual assistant, Phillip Daroya. Some factors that helped me finalized my decision was the flexibility of time and the savings on cost and energy. We are everyday jammed in traffic and it takes a lot of time going from one place to another. But working from home means you are free from being trapped in the road for hours (who loves that right?). I also felt at liberty that I do not need a closet of office attire anymore and that is already a saving! But most of all, spending time with my family played a huge factor in my decision. One of the baby steps that I made was to enroll at the Virtual Assistant Course of Filipino Virtual Assistance (https://fvaconsultancy.com/). I am part of Batch 15 and we are already halfway through it. I have been learning a lot of things such as Social Media Marketing and Management, Simple Web Design, Branding, and Keyword Research, Search Engine Optimization and I am eager to learn some more. After this course, I am positive that your virtual assistant, Phillip Daroya is ready to help many businesses prosper (https://pdaroya.wixsite.com/yourvirtualassistant/contact) . So, what are you waiting for too? Doors are wide open for everyone to start their online journey. We are getting more modernized and this will really present a massive opportunity for a lot of people.

D. Stop paying debts and start saving more- Who does not have debt? I think most of the people I know have one whether it is a big or small amount. When I transferred here in the province, I entered in the fish business where I invested a lot of money. It was earning well during the first few months but I found out that my business partner was lying about our finances and resources so I decided to end it. Having this, I lost a huge amount of money which I just borrowed from the people around me. My target is to pay at least 80% of the total amount and at the same time already putting aside some savings for the future of my children which is my vision.

E. Join and build connections with groups and organizations - Having people to guide, develop and improve your skills is extremely helpful in this life and of course, in the business world. When I joined the Strada Club of the Philippines (https://www.facebook.com/groups/stradaclubph/) way back in 2015, I made connections to businessmen who shared the same hobby of trailing to mountains with our cars. It was an incredible opportunity where to network with professionals and listen to their experiences that made me feel more refreshed and motivated. Just weeks ago, my mom asked me to join them at the Chamber of Real Estate and Builder’s Association (CREBA https://www.facebook.com/crebapangasinan/) so I can meet and mingle with other business owners and professionals to hone my skills in Real Estate management, development, marketing, and sales. By joining this association too, I will be updated with the industry’s standards and policies and best practices which I can definitely incorporate with my job as your virtual assistant, Phillip Daroya.

Find time and passion!

It is not yet too late to start what you want to accomplish for the year. It may be a thing or two or maybe even a list. As Steve Jobs quoted, "… And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle."
