Q1
The Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) acquired the data used for the analysis of the inmate population from various five distributed sources all the way from the federal state and local participants. The data that defined the Parole survey was obtained from the probation and parole agencies in the United States of America. Some other data were obtained from the local jails in specific the adult and juvenile confinement facilities, the facilities under the management of tribal authorities and the detention centers. The other area of interest was the nation’s state departments of corrections as well as the federal Bureau of Prisons (Glaze & Herberman, 2013).
The report adopted various methodologies of analyzing the data by the kind of the data collection mode, the type of participants/ respondents and the availability of the information required. The variation was considered since the population counts for probation, jail, parole and prison were adjusted to account for the nonresponse participants.
Q2
The number of the United States adults per 100 000 adult residents has been a fluctuation between ...
... 2000 and 2012, however between certain periods; the population seems to have some trends of increasing and decreasing respectively. This can be articulated to the point that the rate of crime and misbehavior within the society goes beyond the normal rates and then are controlled thus giving a varying curve. The year 2006 recorded the highest number of the adult residents supervised by the adult correctional systems representing 1 in 31.
The trend changes from 2007 which recorded the highest population and has reduced up to the data obtained as at 2012 indicating the positive efforts that the adult correctional systems are doing towards having a sober society. The increasing rate of the adult residents supervised was low in comparison to the describing rate which is high with the increasing recording an increment of 10 persons. According to the statistics, 2012 recorded the lowest population indicating positivity with the approach of correcting the adults in the United States (Glaze & Herberman, 2013).
Q3
In general, the figure indicates positive in the number of persons supervised by the adult correctional system as at 2012 which provide an indication of the response and influence that the system has impacted to the society. The population of the probation adults showed the highest decrease which represents 63.9% with the parole population having 500 which defines 0.8%. In 2012, there was a positive recording in all categories as it recorded the minimal number of persons supervised by adult correctional systems. On the other hand, the correctional status for the prison was at 35.2% representing a population of 21 100. The change observed shows that the correctional population is showing a positive in reviving the behavior of the citizens and thus enhancing purity and good morals within the society (Glaze & Herberman, 2013).

Q4
According to the correctional status, as indicated by the period of 2011 and 2012, there is a general reduction in the overall population of the persons supervised by the adult correctional systems. The population under probation recorded the highest figure representing 56.9% and 56.8 percent in 2011 and 2012 respectively. This indicates a positive reduction in the number by 0.01 percent. However, it is vice versa with the local jail population whose number increased from 735 600 representing 10.5 percent to 744 500 which is equivalent to 10.7 percent in 2011 and 2012 respectively. There is an increase in the number with an estimate of 0.02 percent (Glaze & Herberman, 2013).
