But the major objective of drug testing is to detect amphetamines, cocaine, different types of opioids, and metabolites. Saliva drug testing aims at detecting drugs that are concentrated in oral fluids as the quantum is usually greater than those in blood. At the same time, there is significant drug absorption in oral cavities that increases after prolonged drug use by the person concerned. Drugs are often absorbed in oral fluid and they are detected using screening techniques like drug testing using saliva.

Workplace drug testing helps in rendering the workplace safer and more secure and that is why random drug testing has become the order of the day in most enterprises. And since saliva drug testing is easier compared to others it is the most extensively used drug testing method in the commercial world.
