1.Lack of holistic learning

Holistic learning aims to help students grow in all directions. This means a student can grow intellectually, socially, mentally, creatively and socially. Once you have a holistic learning approach, you will get closer to becoming a better and well-educated individual and not just an engineer. If an engineering college in Pune doesn’t focus on this aspect, it needs to be struck off your list.

2.10 years old engineering curriculum

We live in an age where innovation takes place every day. What was trending yesterday becomes old-school tomorrow. And, the same applies to what is taught in colleges. If colleges have a curriculum that is not updated according to today’s industry requirements, it has little to no use. This is why you should select a college that focuses on an industry-relevant curriculum. If an engineering college cannot offer this, it is time to delete it from your list.

3.No focus on skill development

There are many colleges in our city which focus on technical expertise. But, what about the other skills? To outshine in the corporate world, you need ...
... a unique blend of technical expertise and soft skills. This is why you should shortlist colleges that conduct seminars and activities for skill development.

4.College fests are a big NO

Your engineering college life shouldn’t be only about attending lectures, completing assignments, submitting projects and answering exams. No doubt, all of this is important. But, this kind of routine will make your experience extremely boring and tedious. To avoid this, look for colleges that organise cultural fests. This will help you build a balance between academics and social life.

5.Poor placement rate

The ultimate goal of pursuing an engineering degree is to get a good job. This is why you need to check the placement rate of the college. A poor placement rate means the chances of you working for the best companies are low.

Once you have eliminated colleges based on these factors, you will be left with the best engineering colleges in Maharashtra. And, these are the colleges you need to apply to. Start applying and get ready to experience a challenging yet vibrant college life!
