You Might Lose Your Task Information While You Use Nsf Converter
MS Outlook is an email client better known for its simple working, familiar user interface, data security, data integrity and advanced features. All these attributes and advantages add to make MS Outlook the first choice for utilization in organizations, industries, corporate, institutes and business entities to switch from Lotus Notes email environment to MS Outlook environment. However, manually migrating from Lotus Notes to Outlook poses danger of data loss.
When you migrate Lotus Notes user's email messages, calendar information and tasks to Exchange 2000 Server with the use of Migration Wizard for Exchange 2000, some migrated users might report that all the tasks have not been imported to the Outlook Tasks folder. Migration Wizard only migrates the tasks that were present in the Notes calendar and therefore, the Migration Wizard for Exchange migrates these tasks differently in Notes R5 than in Notes 4.6, as mentioned below:
With Notes 4.6 mailbox database, there is a Display task on my calendar option for every task. By default, the task is not depicted in the calendar.
Notes 5.0 mailbox database does ...
... not have these options, these are set up in the preferences for all of the tasks in place of for each individual task, but results with the same issue.
However, you can resolve these issues by following the procedures given here. Use the following procedure while you use NSF Converter to transfer tasks in Notes 4.6 calendar. Additionally, Notes help file will also be quite supportive for this.
Open the Notes Mailbox in your Notes 4.6 client
Change to the To Do folder
Open the existing task that was not migrated
Click the Display task on my calendar button and the button will then change to Remove from calendar
Save the task
Run Migration Wizard for Exchange 2000. This time, task is migrated successfully
Use the following steps for transferring tasks in Notes R5 calendar
Open the Notes mailbox in your Notes R5 client
Change to the To Do section and then click Preferences on the Tools menu
On the Calendar tab, click the To Do tab
Click to select the Always show current to do's in today's calendar check box
Click OK
Now run Migration Wizard again and you'll find your task migrated to Exchange 2000
Migration Wizard is likely to not migrate your task information from Lotus Notes to Exchange 2000 if you follow just the wizard steps. It actually sends an email message to the migrated user including an attachment i.e. Notes_us.sc2. After this, the user has to use Microsoft Outlook application import the .sc2 file that includes Task and Calendar information. NSF converter might just make your work easy as these tools are devised specially for migration your important NSF data to PST file without causing any data loss.
