It is important the puppy's training starts out on a positive note. He needs to learn that he can trust you and that you can communicate with him. He needs to know that there are rewards, such a dog treats for positive behavior. Your puppy is ready for his first lessons at weaning time. Nature designed him to live in packs. He is a pack animal. Now that he's living with you, you and your family need to include him in your pack. He needs to feel a part of your life.
To help him become a member of the human pack, you must teach him to communicate in your language. Your dog was born speaking a foreign language. You must teach him your language. Dog treatsare a great way to teach him communication. Start your dog's training with simple command such as ‘come'. Using a helper, attach a light cord to the dog's collar. Have the helper restrain the puppy while you walk a short distance away with the cord in your hand. Attract his attention by whistling or clapping your hand and then say ‘come'. Your helper will release the puppy. If he doesn't ...
... immediately come, gently tug on the rope and pull the puppy to ward you. When he reaches you, pat him and praise him. Give him a Dog Treat to help him understand he did the right thing.
Thus, in training your puppy, when he responds to a command in an appropriate behavior, rewarding him with a dog treat solidifies the idea between the ‘word' and the ‘action'. By treating him with a dog treat at the right moment, you are teaching him your language. Thus, he begins to understand the communication process. With enough repetition, the word ‘come' suddenly means something to him and he starts to understand that words mean something. This makes teaching further skills easier because he understand that words will eventually mean action.
Remember to be prompt with rewarding the dog with his dog treat when he has done the appropriate action. If you are to slow giving him the dog treat, he will not associate the action with the reward. Consistency in rewarding with a dog treat is the key to effective training. Most dog training failures are because the trainer was too slow with the dog treats Dog treats . Have the dog treat in your hand so you can reward for the action, immediately!

Go slow in your training and be patient with him. Don't confuse him by going too fast or expecting too much at first. He wants to please you - don't let him down! Another common mistake is to want to hurry the dog. Go slow. Repetition is vital to teaching him your language.
Make your training sessions short and interesting. Use commands that are easy for him to hear. Short words such as Come, Go, No, or Stay work well. Always use the same word for the same command. Don't change the tone of voice that the command is given. Dogs respond to not only words but also to voice tone. And remember to reward instantly with dog treats
