6.Select Password Security in the Security Method list.
7.Select a compatibility level for the PDF in the Compatibility list.
8.Select the Password Required to open document check box.
9.Type the password that you want to protect the PDF file.
10.Close the dialog box.
This is how you can protect PDF files from being accessed by unauthorized users. Now, the data included in the PDF file is safe from intruders. No one without having the correct password can open / modify the PDF file.
