The Samsung i8910 is one of the most awaited mobile phone by phone lovers as it features the biggest AMOLED screen. This multimedia phone possesses all the features that entertainment gadgets must have. Though this phone is pretty expensive, you will truly love Samsung i8910 if you are a multimedia phone fan. The Samsung i8910 aka Omnia HD is the first HD video enabled phone and it is created so much in anticipation of the market. It measures 123 x 58 x 12.9mm and weighs just 148g. The Li-Ion battery provides standby time of 600 hours for 2G and 450 hours for 3G and talk time of 13 hours 30 minutes for 2G and 6 hours 30 minutes for 3G.

The fully touch operated mobile phone is designed with so much emphasis on the touch screen. The basic design is pretty standard. The Metallic frame adds to the look of the screen. A secondary video call camera and proximity sensor is present at the top above the screen. The accelerometer rotates the display automatically, but it doesn't happen with the menus.

The Samsung i8910 features a 3.7 ...
... inches AMOLED screen that can display 16 million colors brilliantly. The capacitive touch screen is quite sensitive so you just need give gentle touches to activate the menus. Even though the resolution of 360 x 640 pixels is no big deal, AMOLED technology takes pride in making a difference. However, sunlight legibility is still poor.

An 8MP camera is safely located at the back with LED flash. However, there is no camera cover which is pretty unusual for a high end multimedia phone. The music player of the Samsung i8910 is simply excellent with 8 to 16GB of memory onboard. The MicroSD cards double the storage space. Dolby surround delivers precise sound and it is a pleasure to use the headphone. The FM radio with RDS support makes the multimedia package of i8910 complete. There are two video players - Symbian Real Player and Samsung video player. You can make HD movies with the Samsung i8910, but there is no HDMI port which can be used directly to watch movies on HDTV sets.

The Samsung i8910 supports Symbian OS fifth edition which is aimed at touch screen devices. A TouchWiz interface exploits all the powers of the OS. The home screen and menu icons can be freely customized and the interface is pretty user friendly. Due to the popilarity of widgets in smart phones, the Samsung i8910 gives you direct access to those widgets that you often use. The TouchWiz lets you access applications in two different modes - finger use and basic. The finger use mode presents four large shortcuts while basic mode displays just the traditional basic menus viz telephone, contacts, menu and messaging. It is pity that the operating system is still sluggish with certain applications though the interface is designed perfectly .

The phone book is standard and Photo contacts app is very interesting. Apart from the lack of the smart dialing feature, the telephony works as well as expected. And the absence of voice dialing means that you must use touch screen keypad. SMS, MMS, and emails are all provides by the Samsung i8910 and share a common editor. You can use a dedicated email client application to organize your emails in the easiest way. The landscape full QWERTY mode lets you type text when sending messages. There is also a handwriting recognition which is pretty useful.

The connectivity options for the Samsung i8910 are ample with support for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB connection. The internet browser features a more attractive and neat interface, making it a pleasure to browse various websites using 3G HSDPA and it is better not to use EDGE 2G network if you want internet speed. The GPS receiver in the Samsung i8910 is a welcome addition that helps you navigate easily. Various navigational and service applications are available with the Samsung i8910 and those applications depend on where you purchased your mobile phone.
