Sitting in the dentist's chair can be unnerving to many people. Was it a bad experience with dental procedures when they were a child, or even more recently? The key is the CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacture) technology. Only 20 minutes is needed to make a crown in this type of machine, so patients can get fitted right away. This eliminates the need for a temporary crown and a second cementation appointment. This saves both time on working
inside the mouth, as well as the patient's valuable time.

The last notable development is sedation dentistry. Sedation methods usually meant breathing Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen. There is now a pill that you can take to avoid the side effects of the gas when doing a procedure that requires sedation. For anxious or fearful patients, this is a must. Postponing the dental visit because of fear is no longer an issue with sedation dental procedures. Patients can relax and sleep while the procedure takes place, and may not remember any of the procedure at all once they wake up.
