Is your PST taking too much of time to synchronize? Then, you have come to the right place. Continue reading why this can occur and how to solve the issues. An Outlook PST can be synchronized on two different devices using various applications that allow syncing PST data on another machine and keep each copy in perfect agreement with each other. But various issues, including a large sized PST, can slow down this process. The article discusses few such problems and the possible solutions to recover. However, for a large PST, one of the solutions can be to Split PST File.

Here are some considerations that if applied properly can help you to get out from slow PST sync issues:

(1) Many applications, such as ActiveSync, update the entire e-mail folder hierarchy each time when you sync PST, irrespective of whether a particular folder has been synchronized or not. So, if the file contains too many folders, it can slow down your PST to sync. Thus limiting the number of folders in PST can be a good practice for gaining a quick sync.

(2) Sometimes, one or more corrupted PST objects, for example tasks, create problems ...
... when syncing PST. Sync process particularly hangs when trying to update these items. Thus you need to recognize and delete these particular items.

(3) Excess number of empty files in \Windows\Temp folder on either of the devices to be synced can also cause performance issues while syncing PST. To resolve the issue, you should reset the device(s) and then delete these blank files.

(4) A large PST is one of the prominent causes of decelerating PST synchronization. The entire size of PST file is attributed to all the emails, notes, calendars, contacts, and other items it contains and grows rapidly with the use of MS Outlook. To keep it small, you should keep on deleting the unnecessary items and compacting the PST. Another method you can opt for, is to Split Large PST File. There are several Split PST utilities in the market that allow you to divide the large PST file into smaller parts.

Stellar Phoenix PST File Splitter is a safe product that splits an Outlook PST created with MS Outlook 2007, 2003, 2002, and 2000. This Split PST File software can divide the file on the basis of e-mail ID and message date. The tool is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2003, and 2000.
