Do Indians Really Need A Gps System?
In India, GPS systems are being used since the 1990's. The main uses of GPS systems are to foretell the weather conditions, locate the vegetation areas, national borders and other irrigation aspects. It is also used to locate the habitat of the animals. The services that GPS systems offer find no end and experts are finding new ways to make use if this technology in the daily life. Indians too need this wonderful technology and they already are using it in various fields.
The systems are being used to control the flow of traffic in a number of cities. The police and the traffic departments are using it to see the movement of vehicles. Other uses of GPS in India are for harvesting. There are tractors that come fitted with these systems and help the farmers in plowing, spraying, cultivating and harvesting the fields perfectly. Adventure sports and tourism departments are also making proper use of this technology and getting information about the routes, weather conditions, and mountain terrains.
GPS systems are helping people across a number of countries in a varied manner and the technology can be ...
... immensely helpful to Indians as well. Like other countries, India too can start the application of the system in medical field to locate the nearest ambulance or hospital to the site of emergency. This will enable the people to get faster response and save lives. If the technology is used in the aircrafts, they can be used to track forest fires.
The construction and mapping companies too can use the system to check the position of the construction sites and tunnels. Operating and navigating mines with proper safety will also be possible with the help of GPS systems. The system can find applications in almost every area and thus efforts should be made to bring the technology into all those sectors and help them grow.
Not all the cars being manufactured in India have GPS navigation systems. The technology is still to penetrate numerous sectors. GPS enabled cars are needed in India in order to locate the position of the vehicles such as trucks, fleet vehicles and other vehicles in the public transport system. The courier services too will be able to use the service and track the orders and drivers of the vehicles. The automobile companies understand the use of the device and launching cars and vehicles equipped with the system.
These systems can be used in monitoring the holes in the ozone and judge the quality of the air. India too needs such systems to be able to control the air quality. Oil spills can also be located using GPS and this application can be very useful to Indians as they advance in their oil refining operations. Other applications of the system for Indians can be in archaeology, to know the location of the ruins and in biology to know the position of the endangered species and migrating birds and animals. The GPS systems have a long way to go and in the 21st century, India too should be able to get its share of this technology.
