Motorola Milestone is the latest android mobile phone from Motorola available in the European market. It is by far one of the best android mobile phones that take full advantage of the open source operating system. The CDMA version of the Milestone called Droid was a hit in the United States, and Milestone is very much anticipated to attract the European market too. The dimensions of Milestone are 115.8 x 60 x 13.7mm and it weighs 165g.

The build quality of Milestone is far better than other kinds of android mobiles available in the market. While other android mobile phones explicitly showed their plastic, Milestone stays different. The thickness of Milestone can be well appreciated considering the fact that it comprises a full QWERTY keyboard.

The 3.7 inches display has a responsive capacitive touch screen which makes you fell comfortable when you navigate through the phone interface. There is a D pad and select key included below the large screen along the side touch sensitive buttons. The QWERTY keyboard ...
... is revealed when you slide open theMilestone. The design inhibits users from using both hands freely to type using the keyboard. The lip of the phone gets into the way of typing even though keys are placed well enough.

Among the Android mobile phones, it can be said that the Milestone has a fairly decent camera with a fresh interface. Additional features like digital zoom, shooting modes, focus modes, and color effects are welcome additions. The 5MP camera comes with a dual LED flash that helps capturing clear pictures. The high quality video capturing feature captures DVD quality videos. The music player is very basic and there are no unique features worth a special mention. The external speaker is very loud and there are headsets available too

The Milestone takes advantage of the latest version Android 2.0 and the interface is simply rocking. Google navigation is not available for UK customers even with the MotoNav. The interface has three hone screen and the redisgned icons add a unique feel to the Milestone. And a great of widgets are included in this phone such as YouTube, power bar. The power bar is helpful for you to toggle between applications. The default Google search engine is also a useful widget.

Synchronizing the contact list with Microsoft exchange is a great advance because applications to synchronize social networking websites may hit the market soon. Quick contacts are a new element that lets you decide how you want to interact with a contact. Geo tagging of contacts is now possible with the Milestone. Threaded message viewing helps you view things you typed earlier. Type to compose works with the Milestone phone. The onscreen keyboard is very much impressive. Gmail and Exchange are two types of emailing options available with Motorola Milestone. You can easily convert SMS into MMS and enclose attachments with emails too.

It is quite easy to browse internet with the web browser. The quad brand GSM with dual band 3G support is very useful for wireless internet connectivity. And the pinch and zoom facility is wonderful for zooming in and out. But there is no onboard flash support so that you can't view websites with flash content, which is a little disappointing.

Milestone has an internal memory of 133MB and it can be expanded to up to 32GB. The standard Li-ion mAh battery supports 350 hours of stand by time and 6 hours 30 minutes of talk time. The introduction of Milestone draw much attention of European customers though, its influence is still a little inferior to its counterpart Droid.
