When you are a young adult, going to the beach is enough of an activity. Enjoying the sun and the sand, along with the surf, is all you need to have fun. As you get older, marry and begin your family, you will find that you must plan ways of occupying your children’s time †even at the beach. Luckily, there are a great number of fun family beach vacation activities for you and your family to enjoy.

1. Horseback riding †Horseback riding along the sea isn’t just a romantic notion. Many families enjoy horseback riding. It can offer you a unique view of the ocean, provide a learning experience for the children and make tons of memories. Your hotel or beachfront rental can direct to the nearest horseback-riding outfit. Once there, you and your family will be matched with a suitable horse, given a brief lesson and off you go!

5. Snorkeling †most families, especially those with younger children are not prepared for a full blown scuba diving experience †but almost anyone can snorkel. 6. Cookouts †While some beaches do not permit it, many will allow you to cook out. A great idea is to do a clambake right on the beach. Check for local regulations, pack a cooler and spend the late afternoon and early evening right on the beach, enjoying yourself and the sunset.
7. Day Trips †check with your rental property manager or hotel concierge for information regarding local attractions. Theme parks, nature parks, local zoos and more are often just a short drive away. Plan at least one ‘outing’ for your vacation; after all, even the beach can get boring.

The only problem you are likely to have is settling on just a few of the beachfront vacation activities that will be available to you and your family. Don’t forget to pack the sunscreen!!
