There are two types of working holiday visas available for Australia. First is the Working Holiday Visa or subclass 417, this is for people residing in Belgium, Canada, Republic of Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan and the United Kingdom. The second holiday visa to Australia is subclass 462 or the Work and Holiday visa. This applies to people from Chile, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, and the USA.

Australian Holiday visas is for 18 to 30 year olds who are interested in spending holidays in Australia while taking on temporary work of up to 12 months. Such an arrangement allows you to supplement the cost of your travel.

If you are a holder of this Australian holiday visa, the kind of work you should undertake should only be short-term. This means that your work in Australia should be for a maximum of six months only with each employer. This six-month limitation applies to full-time, part-time, casual and shift work.

Generally, you can do any kind of work while under this holiday visa to Australia. ...
... The employer is the business for which you are working directly under. As such, you may not work with the same organization even if the duties or location of your employment change.

If you are referred to work by an agency, you can work in one of their referred businesses for only six months. You may, however, continue working with the same agency for another business.

On the contrary, you cannot stay in the same job beyond six months even if you use different employment agencies, affiliates or sub-contracting agreements to contact that employer.

The only exception to the rule of working with the same employer is if you get a second Australian holiday visa for work. You can consume the six month work period with one employer for your first working holiday visa. Once the 12 month validity expires, you should get your second working holiday visa, after this you may return to work for the same employer for another six months.

If your intention for visiting Australia is to join the work force, you should consider getting a business or a skilled employee visa instead.
