A Guide To Fashion For The Spring
Spring is around the corner, and many women will be planning their wardrobes for the coming months. This means turning your mind away from bulky knits toward strappy sandals, lighter tops and floaty dresses. At last, you can get back to glam.
It''s good to know that, because many of us will be watching our spending, for next spring, the fashion world has created a selection of much more transitional, less season-dependent collections. In effect this will mean the re-introduction of classic outfits like the white-shirt dress as must-haves for those who like to stay in trend.
For the same recession related reasons, this season will also see staple pieces in our closets, such as the boyfriend blazer and the biker jacket re-introduced. Also, more workable neutral tones such as beige and blue-greens will replace much bolder block colours. This will allow buyers to mix new with old clothes a lot more easily.
But do remember that women''s fashion this Spring will still retain a unique and elegant side. Some of the most striking items in fashion are shorter-than-short shorts, i.e, hotpants, bubble-hem skirts and ...
... over-the-knee socks. This last school-girl style, a favourite for top designers, will offer one of the most desirable looks of the season.
Other trends shown on the London catwalks at fashion week this year were the long loved sequined items?skirts, jackets and tops? but now in more somber, warmer colours that you can work with your more conventional items . Sleeveless jackets and coats were also very popular, shown worn over figure hugging dresses and leggings.
As for trousers, the classic jumpsuit is still in trend. But as another option, also presented on catwalks were more relaxed looking, rolled up barber-style pants and tight jeans. Useful for those limiting their spending, there were featured models wearing customized and decorated denim, which means you can re-use old items.
Lastly, women''s clothes this spring also emphasised the importance of accessorizing and creativity. This means that you can create really unique outfits. Featured on the London catwalks were ankle boots without tights, great handbags and purses, extravagant hair accessories, and stunning, jeweled, ornamental neck-pieces.
If you are worried about money but still want to look good, knowing where to shop will be important. There are several high street stores that sell catwalk and trendy items at inexpensive prices. It''d be wise to visit New Look, a store with a wide variety of dresses, trousers, shoes and accessories for women. At the moment, New Look are providing reductions on pastel coloured shift dresses and in-fashion tops. Barton Loi loves fashion and follows New Look closely and always writes about new products such as womens clothing.
