If you've correctly monetised your site then it will be brimming with different ways for you to turn visitors into cash. This is called monetising a site and it includes things like paid membership, affiliate products, advertising and more used to get visitors and clients to part with their money. To make the most of these systems however you need to first drive traffic to your site. You can have the best conversion system in the world but if not one heads over there to be enticed by your excellent promotion then you won't make any money.

It's how Google indexes sites and pages and it's how it decides which sites are more popular (and hopefully it follows therefore more useful) so as to know which ones to put at the top of the search queries.

To link build you can either swap links with other people and sites by e-mailing webmasters or posting on web master forums, or you can submit your site to site directories, or write articles that include links to your site and submit these to article directories. Commenting on blogs and on forums will also work.

Another great way to start generating traffic is using social networking sites and social bookmarking sites. These won't give you much in terms of Google rank, but they will be able to get your link out there to thousands of people freely and easily. Simply post a link to your site on Facebook for example and all of your friends will see it on their home feed. If you do it on a site like Digg or Reddit meanwhile it will be shared with everyone at the site at that time and might spread through the whole net as a result.
