If you are sharing your computer with others, then it’s become mandatory from security point of view to protect MS Outlook data information or to prevent email encroachment from others accessing the same system. Locking Outlook .PST file with password is the only option to protect personal Outlook data such as emails, calendars, contacts, drafts, appointments, etc. Once the password is created and set for a PST file, you can sit at ease. But in case, you forget the password what would you do at that time? Well, Outlook Password Recovery will prove an elixir in such case.
As we know, all the email items created, sent and received in Outlook are stored in personal folder .PST files on computer's hard disk. The default location is
\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
Separate Personal Folders are created on the same system for different users using Outlook and these PSTs are secured with password set. Following are the steps involved for setting password for Personal ...
... Folders file.
On the File menu, click Data File Management to open the ‘Account Settings’ dialog box.
On the Data Files tab, click the Personal Folders file (.pst) for which you want to create a password, and then click Settings to open the Personal Folders dialog box.
Click the Change password button.
However if your email account runs on MS Exchange, this button doesn’t appear. Your Outlook folders are already protected by your Exchange password.
In the New password box, type your new password. The password can be up to 15 characters long and case-sensitive.
Use strong passwords that combine uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Weak passwords don't mix these elements.
In the Verify password box, type your new password again.
If you share a computer with others, don't select the Save this password in your password list check box. Anyone else accessing the same computer can easily open your .PST file with saved password. If your Windows user account is password protected, and no other user has access to the computer, you can select the Save this password in your password list check box if you want to avoid entering your password each time you need to use the .pst file. Click OK twice, and then click Close.
So it’s easy to set a password for Outlook profiles. You just need to make some changes in the settings. Quite a few times, we tend to forget the password or somehow lose the page on which we have written the password. Outlook password recovery software unlocks your MS Outlook email account so that you can access your important emails, contact list, and calendar entries that are saved in .Outlook pst files. Software provides instant and accurate Outlook password recovery.
