Winter Park's 70th Anniversary Carnival

January 2010 saw Winter Park holding its 70th anniversary carnival which was a joint venture between the Winter Park Resort and the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. Winter Park is one of the best ways to enjoy your vacation. It is nestled in the stunning surroundings of the Fraser Valley, Colorado, and the nearest airport is Denver International if you need to fly in. It offers a massive wealth of winter sporting fun, and the carnival showcased so many of the things you can enjoy while staying at Winter Park.
One of the high points of the carnival was the sled dogs, with sled dog racing, sled dog rides and award ceremonies, and a real chance to showcase the skills of these winter dogs that simply thrive in the snowy conditions. They are now used primarily for leisure activities but still used in some places to perform essential tasks. The Winter Park staff pride themselves on offering some of the best winter fun available. This is a real family park, so children have their own set of activities on offer, meaning that you can head off to the slopes and get some proper ski time in, knowing that they safe and having huge ...
... amounts of fun.
The Winter Park facilities also incorporate one of the best rental property schemes around, making it a breeze for you to choose self-catering accommodations within the park that best meet the needs of your family. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the local area and more than willing to help; if you have never been to the area before, take advantage of their skills. They are happy to help arrange transport and can advise you of the best places to travel from, as well as help get you sorted with the accommodation of your choice, helping you to have the best holiday possible.
During the 70th anniversary celebrations, various events were held right across the park. Visitors got to try their hand at snow golf, saw the stunning snow sculptures, and ate delicious food treats like pancakes and of course, had the chance to warm up with sumptuous hot chocolate. There were many competitions, with some open to the visitors to try. Some were for the best in their field to showcase their talents, and the visitors could watch and see their work. The best chefs were present, meaning there were plenty of delicious dishes to be eaten and various food vendors added to the wealth of choice on offer.
It was the perfect opportunity to see Winter Park in all its glory and those visiting were able see what a fantastic resource this is. It is little wonder that it makes such a popular holiday destination. The facilities on offer for the skier, whether professional or new to the field, are fantastic. They have some of the best slopes around and you are sure to love them. If you need instructors, there are plenty on-hand to get you up and running, and there are ski schools to help more experienced skiers hone their skills and troubleshoot any problems they may have had. There is the full complement of ski hire shops as well as a chance to purchase new equipment while on the site. There really is nothing disappointing here.
The 70th anniversary celebration was obviously a special occasion with meaning. However, this is not the only event on offer so if you missed it, you haven’t missed out for good. There are always events being held throughout the year as Winter Park loves to entertain with the best entertainment possible. This really is a magical winter wonderland and you are going to love the atmosphere here. February often sees Mardi Gras brought to the streets of Winter Village. There are many events taking place which are all designed to be visitor-interactive, making sure that you have the best time possible. This is always on top of all the normal winter sports that are on offer. The events really are an added bonus and always draw crowds of visitors, many returning time after time knowing that Winter Park always brings magic to life.
Anyone who has been to Winter Park is likely to want to return again as there is just such a great wealth of events on offer and the atmosphere is fantastic. The service is second to none and the accommodations are just perfect for creating a winter holiday that you will remember for years to come.
