Rajasthan -The desert jewel of India is a brightening metaphor (emerald) in the crown of Indian motherland. It's a land of vibrant and pulsating spectrum colors rich of art & culture. Rajasthan stands for a synonym and paradox of art & culture in the world. It's a blend of two words Raj + Sthan means a place or land for the residence of royal dynasties, Lords and kings.

The art and culture of Rajasthan is its own and is developed under the quality parameters and standards of their own traditions. Each region of Rajasthan has different and diverse form of art and culture. Folk dances of Rajasthan provides new dimensions to the culture of Rajasthan and the strange fact is that this variation changes at every outset with different outlooks .If we talk about food tradition and costumes of Rajasthan then it would not be a hyperbole to say that food and costumes of Rajasthan are matchless and just same as kings or lords. People of Rajasthan are found of wearing Pearls, Gems, Emeralds, Silver and Gold jewellery, turban on the head is a sign of royal culture.

Fairs and festivals are another outstanding feature of decent and innovative Rajasthan which brings Indian civilization in lime light colors. Brij Festival, Camel Festival, Desert Festival, Gangaur Festival, Kajli Teej , Marwar Festival, Summer Festival, Teej Festival, Elephant Festival ,Ganesh Chaturthi ,Kite Festival, Dussehra, Shekhawati festival are some bubbly and spirited festivals in Rajasthan.

Religion is one of the most crucial factor in the life of people as well as the stability of state or nation. Rajasthan is inhabited by all types of castes and religions like Gujjars, Thakurs, Rajput, Marwari, Muslims, Christians, Sikh, Janis & Buddhists. The Bhils and the Minas are the ancient inhabitants of Rajasthan. The area today known as Rajasthan was formally founded and established by them.

Some important cities in Rajasthan are:-

1)Jaipur:- The capital of Rajasthan and world known as pink city was Established on the name of Sawai Raja Jai Singh and very important from historical point of view. The temples of Jaipur are also a main point of attraction not only for saints and sages but also for tourists around the globe. The Jaipur temples are known for their spectacular architecture and master piece work of art and expertise. Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jal Mahal, Jaigarh Fort are the main attractions of Jaipur.

2) Udaipur:- The landscaped city is often dubbed as the "Venice of the East". The City Palace Museum, Sahelion ki Bari, Jag mandir, the temples of Nathwada and Eklingji would remind you the glories of a romantic past. You will also find Hindu Temples, Christian Churches, Jain Temples, Buddhist Temples, Sikh Gurudwara, Muslim Mosques, Jewish Synagogues.

3) Jodhpur: - Also known as sun city due to sunny weather,it has several tourists places having historical importance. Mehrangarh, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhawan palaces are some of the most beautiful historical monuments in Jodhpur.


4) Jaisalmer: - This is the city of famous Golden Fort and heart of the desert as well. The yellow sandstone that the fort is made of, takes a shimmering golden hue with the beams of the setting sun.

5) Pushkar :- During the Pushkar Festival in October-November, millions of people gather to take a dip in the holy lake. Close by, lie the holy place of Ajmer.

6) Ranthambore:-It reminds us the bravery and sacrifices of Rajput king Hamir just to keep his words. Its significance was enhanced in a great way when it was taken over by Akbar. Ranthambore is a national sanctuary also.
