James Cameron's Avatar Tops Titanic As The Highest Grossing Movie Ever!

With blockbuster movies like Alien, Terminator, Titanic, Avatar; world knows about James Cameron. However, his latest movie Avatar has finally sunk all time hit at box office- Titanic. Action adventure film that stars Sigourney Weaver based on 2154 has become the highest grossing movie. The movie talks about disabled ex marine that is sent to Earth for infiltrating blue aliens race and convince them to allow his master mine natural resources from their homeland.

It took 5 years to complete the film and it has been reported as one of expensive movies with budget of around $300 million. However, it has managed to wow fans and critics by bagging in Golden award. According to resources, Avatar has made $2 million that were required for making it the highest grossing film. The $1.84 billion record set up by Cameron's previous movie, Titanic is broken by Avatar reaching $2 billion.

James Cameron's earlier epic of love about popular sinking ship had held the top position for thirteen years with Leonardo DiCaprio's role remembered by people till date, is getting replaced by his latest movie Avatar. The movie has already reigned at top in North America's box office for 6 weeks. Countries like Russia and China that were not a part of Titanic's success at box office played an important part in making Avatar a hit. Avatar may not have revolutionized filmmaking but this science fiction has been an entertaining and thrilling ride for the viewers against infinitely artistic and imaginative canvas.

With James Cameron's Avatar instant hit at the box office, its sequels are sure to follow. The movie has managed to pumped in loads of money and its willingness to different commercial applications including toys, video games, memorabilia and books have helped it rope in high ROIs too.

The reasons for the success made by avatar is said to be high-ticket price because of 3D animation and its release in holiday season. Also according to some, movie did not have any competition from other movie during its release.
