A new clinical study proves that trying yoga might help in easing chronic lower back pain.

More or less so, patients were divided into 2 groups that were feeling lower back discomfort on a regular basis. The study consisted of a little less than 100 individuals with varied amounts of mobility and function concerns. No back pain sufferers were severely disabled where they needed help to do the yoga.

One group did not participate in the yoga workouts at all but just continued their current rehab and the other group began attempting yoga 2 times per week for 1.5 hour programs for a six month period. Research does show that the yoga group of individuals affirmed a relief in pain and restored strength, mobility, and functionality that was greater than the non-yoga group. Moreover, an added benefit was that numerous people cited less symptoms of depression. Actually, the whole study is published in the September issue of Spine Magazine.

In effect yoga builds core and muscle strength, flexibility and aids with balance. Certainly, there are also the benefits of mediation such as lower blood pressure, decreased stress ...
... levels, etc attributed to the fact that yoga is more often than not utilized for that as well. Stretching exercises such as yoga aid to increase muscle strength and reduce muscle imbalances and weakness that are regularly the primary reason for lower back discomfort in the first place.

Despite all that many adults stop their normal activities and exercising because of discomfort or concerns about creating more injury to their back. Dismally, this might be counterproductive because this weakens muscles and strong core, abdominal, and back muscles aid to protect against further injury.

Research studies show that lower back pain is as much as 25 percent of all medical insurance claims and the annual direct medical costs are approximately $35 billion.

In many incidents the benefits of yoga for women are more than for men such as helping with distinct concerns specific to women such as menopause, osteo-arthritis, and more.

Additionally, we should not downplay the large amount of more psychological and emotional, holistic, and physical benefits of yoga due to the meditation aspect. The meditation and deep breathing might help to lower blood pressure, lower stress levels, and improve blood flow and circulation throughout the body, heart, and mind. The additional oxygen in the blood helps with speedy healing and recovery of the body, better mood and mind function, and posture. Consequently, you should keep in mind these extra psychological and emotional, spiritual, and physical benefits when deciding if yoga might help you with your lower back pain.

Many agree that there are a number of sources for lower back pain and that by and large it is a bulging disc or arthritis. Chances are yoga will do more good than harm for those concerned about further injury the study says. Yoga is a form of exercise for stretching and meditation and if tried correctly without overstressing oneself it can mitigate lower back pain along with terrific additional benefits.
