Gourmet With Almonds- A Classic Base For Party
If you're like me, the typical 3 meals a day routine just doesn't cut it. When its only 3:00 and 4 hours and 15 minutes left till dinner, I can't hold out the rest of my work day waiting to see what my wife made for dinner (if there is dinner that is). So that's where the "snacks" come in. Yes, it's the perfect escape from the 3 meals reality world I lived in, where the breakfast-lunch boundaries were broken, and anything seemed possible. But this can be a dangerous world to live in, especially if chocolate and the likes were the main inhabitants. Being that the average person consumes 21 pounds of chocolate a year according to wiki (I personally think it's more) the "chocolate" and "junk food snacks" world is very popular, and a very tempting place to stay. However if I wanted to keep my health and not change my wardrobe every 4 months, I needed a better plan. Something filling, satisfying, tasty, & good for me. So I discovered something that has been increasingly popular over the last 5 years - almonds.
Ok so why almonds? Well, almonds are rich in proteins, fiber, calcium, magnesium, potassium, ...
... vitamin E and other antioxidants and photochemical.
Almonds have many benefits for heart. They have a high protein content and hence they are very suitable for nourishment of skin and hair (which I still have and would like to keep) The cholesterol level of a person can be reduced by 14% with regular consumption of almonds due to the presence of monounsaturated and some polyunsaturated fats. Over eating can be avoided by munching almonds before meals. They are also known to help in the prevention of colon cancer. Almonds have uncountable benefits for health; here some of them have been mentioned.
And I personally love the taste. The healthiest way to eat them is raw almonds , but I can see why people prefer roasted & salted. If you want a healthy balance, you can get them dry roasted, so you don't get all the fat from oil roasted. You can pick them up at almost any local supermarket, or order almonds online.
Be sure to eat these in moderation though, as they do have fats (even though they are healthy ones) and they are quite filling, which may cause you to skip meal number 3.
