Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (cabg)

The Coronary artery Bypass Grafting also known as CABG involves the removal of vein from the leg or artery from the chest to bypass the passage of coronary artery which is blocked.
Heart attack is caused by blockage of coronary artery, 70% chances of block in left coronary artery than the right side coronary artery. In most cases, Angioplasty is the treatment of choice. However, in severe cases of artery blockage CABG is performed.
Medications – After the CABG procedure, medicines are to be taken which add to the therapeutic effect. If the patient suffers from other conditions such as diabetes or others, they are to be continued along with the medicine for the heart.
Success of CABG - After CABG procedure, the success depends upon the patency (the ability of the vessel to be open) of the vessels. After 10 years, the patency of vein taken from the leg for bypass is 60-70% whereas the patency of artery is 90-95%.
Precautions for CABG – However big or small the blockage might be, this technique proves success. Certain conditions such as Asthma , overly obese patients and also some patients undergoing ...
... radiation therapy are under certain risk when considering CABG.
