The ever-increasing use of mobile devices has affected the sales of different mobile phone products. A lot of mobile users are purchasing various mobile enhancements to improve and give protection to their devices.

A conman tried to make a profit by selling different fake mobile products. The court has sentenced a man from Gosforth, Newcastle to 16 months in prison. He pleaded guilty to nine offences that relate to the possession and trade of various counterfeit items.

The conman named Gianni Falchi has sold fake products that worth over a hundred thousand pounds. The 39-year old man was apprehended due to selling counterfeit mobile phone accessories which victimized a lot of mobile phone owners. He used popular internet e-commerce websites such as Amazon and eBay. He works under his company called as Ireplace Ltd.

... found that Falchi sold fake items using 133 eBay accounts. He ran those big number of eBay accounts to sell different counterfeit mobile phones and accessories.

Falchi’s fraud company has victimized a lot of mobile users. According to some complaint, various kinds of mobile phone products were offered in their eBay account Falchi’company made a profit of about £175,000 with a turnover in excess of £800,000.

The customers did not have any guarantee to get their money back after realizing they bought fake mobile accessories. They were also not able to retrieve their money because it was hard to trace the conman. Falchi was able to stay in the business for four years before he was apprehended by the authorities. He sets up false names and made-up contact details.

The National Trading Standards Scambuster North East Team executed a warrant to confiscate the products being sold by Falchi. A total of 42,159 counterfeit items were seized. The items have a street value of £212,473. Fake mobile products affect the value of genuine goods because it loses around £1.15 million in sales.

Warning to mobile users
Gianni Falchi was convicted and sentenced to imprisonment. According to Lord Toby Harris, the Chair of National Trading Standards, Falchi committed a serious counterfeiting operation. It was a form of scam because Falchi was able to run his fraud services over a number of years. He made considerable profits and denied business to companies that sell genuine items. He inflicted some damage to the business of legitimate businesses and traders.

The authorities released a warning to mobile users. Better to check and review the quality before buying any mobile enhancements and accessories online. There’s a potential safety risk in purchasing counterfeit products. Buying fake items can also raise the costs of genuine goods.
