This Closet’s Mine
Home buying shows have become popular lately. Most of them are fairly typical – a couple looks at several houses and then decides to purchase one. If you’ve watched them for a while, you’ll start to notice certain patterns and tendencies. Of course it’s not nice to generalize, but, generally speaking, the men are highly interested in figuring out in which room their big screen television and comfy couch will best fit. The women generally care more about whether there is a bathtub. Again, these are generalizations.
Almost always, and one could easily say 99% of the time, when the couple enters the potential master bedroom and there is only one spectacular, walk-in closet, the woman will immediately and excitedly announce “this closet’s mine!” She will then, almost always, give the man a sweet smile when he then wonders aloud where he will put his clothes. The follow-up usually reveals that the man’s wardrobe was relegated to a guest room closet, either down the hall or on another floor. The closet barely manages his clothes. Poor dear.
What could possible be done to help him? A lot, actually.
