Hello guys, the main reason which made me write this article is to inform the people about the google updates. I want to tell two lines which happened in my life a few days back. As completed my Bachelor degree was fascinated to become Digital Marketing Specialist, So I decided to face the interview when went through some topics regarding Google updates and some concept of SEO then i found many websites who explained about Google updates but it was bit confusing for me, so decided to write this article which helps some students like me.
Some of the Google updates till date are:
Here I explain 5 major updates of Google:
1. Mobile Friendly Update or “Mobilegeddon”:
Google launched its latest update i.e Mobile Friendly update or Mobilegeddon update on April 2015, it was mainly launched to boost the mobile friendly pages in google mobile search pages.
2. Pigeon update:
Google launched Pigeon on July 2014, a new algorithm to provide relevant, accurate and useful local search result which is tied closely to traditional web search ranking signals. It was mainly designed to improve the distance ...
... and location ranking parameters.
3. Google Hummingbird:
It was launched in September 2013, the name states that “precise and fast”. Hummingbird was mainly designed to pay attention to each word in the query / whole sentence/conversation is taken into an account instead of taking a particular word. The main goal of Hummingbird is that pages matching the meaning perform better rather than the few words matching in the pages.
4. Penguin update:
Google launched its Penguin update in April 2012, it is mainly released to catch the site who perform spamming by buying links or getting links from link network to boost their Google ranking. When Google launched this update many sites were removed by the Google so Penguin update is also known as the major update in Google algorithm.
5. Panda Update:
Google launched Panda update in February 2011, it mainly designed to stop the site which contains poor quality content and ranking in Google top search result. Panda is getting updated from time to time so that sites which get escape previously by doing changes will be caught. When Google made this update than many company sites were removed by the Google so Panda update is known as the major update in Google algorithm.
These are some updates of Google but Google changes its search algorithm frequently around 500-600 times, But many are minor changes. The major changes took place in Google search result was Panda and Penguin update.
