Before explaining about Engage disability conference 2017, lets discuss about teh conference and the previous conference which was help in 2014.
Disability conference was mainly started to inspire and strengthen the effeorts to see people regardless of ability engaging them self with our faith communities. It include representation from the major christian health organizations and also from different churches in India which includes CHAI, WVI, NCCI, CBM, EHA, TLM, Compassion, CMC Vellare, JAF, Tear fund, bible colleges, Equip India and few programsworksing on disabilities.
The first engage disability conference was held from 25th to 27th September 2014 at Crowne Plaza , New Delhi. Over 400 people participated with enthusiasm and the 210 delegates like pastors/ church leaders/ theologians and 154 peoples from different NGOs whoc works in CBR and other disability programs.
The disability conference was innograted by the leaders praying for the conference and signed the banner of the conference with the hand print. Later all the delegates who came to conference signed the same banner and final conference declaration ...
... was signed over top of the kaleidoscope of colored hand prints. It was very beautiful representation of all christian people giving a hand to work for the declaration to see those with loved, disability accompanied and included in the body of christ!
Engage Disability conference 2017 is the second conference in the series. It is not a single organization but a union of denominations, churches, societies and individuals who works together toward being and increasing a comprehensive church of people with disabilities. This conference will build on the Engage Disability 2014 conference and will aim for continuity. This year will be focused on building momentum towards the conference with events in regions/state to bring together leaders with disabilities for sensitization and training.
