Project Management Professional (PMP) is widely acclaimed and globally recognized professional designation given by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
PMP certification eligibility criteria are discussed below:
• Four years degree and three years experience in the field of project management including 35 hours of project management training
OR
• Four years degree and 4500 hours of experience in leading and directing projects including 35 hours of project management training
OR
• Secondary degree and five years of experience in project management including 35 hours of project management training
OR
• Secondary degree and 7500 hours of experience in leading and directing projects including 35 hours of project management training.

• Register yourself to become a member of Project Management Institute (PMI).

• Pay the exam fees
• Documents like degree certificate, 36 hours project management training and experience certificate is required for auditing.
• Once the application is accepted (within 90 days), PMI will email you a code to be entered in the Prometric site.
• Take and Pass the PMP Exam.

PMP certificate exam:
• Schedule your exam. From the time of application being approved, you will have a year to pass the exam.
• Exam is for 4 hours, it consists of 200 multiple choice questions. The questions are based on the process groups like initiating, planning, monitoring, executing, controlling, and closing.
• If you fail in the exam, you can retake the exam by paying necessary fees. Three attempts will be given to you to clear the exam.
• If you pass the exam, then you can start using your PMP credentials immediately.

Process time of application form:
• If you apply online form, then it takes 5 days
• If you submit paper forms individually then it takes 10 days
• If you submit paper forms by the corporations then it takes 20 days.

Details about exam fee:
• If you are a PMI member, then the exam fee is $405.
• If you are not a member of PMI, then the exam fee is $555.
• If you are taking re-exam, then the fee for PMI member is $275.
• If you are taking re-exam, then the fee non PMI member is $375.
