Decorating Your Wedding Tables

Guests will spend a significant amount of time at their table during your wedding reception. With this in mind, it is clear that these tables should be welcoming, comfortable and attractive. There are a few different ways that you can achieve this, but it is important to remember to stick to your theme and not to overcrowd the tables. It's also because it allows your guests to eat, drink and socialise with ease over the course of the evening.
Here are a few of the key areas that you must address:
Table cloth
Due to the number of tables, the table cloth will visually take up a large percentage of the room. This makes it one of the most noticeable aspects and, therefore, important. Pick a colour and material that is in tune with your theme. You could opt not only for a bold colour or interesting pattern, but simple white linen can also look fantastic.
Centrepiece
The table centrepieces will be another aspect that your guests will notice straight away. Simple floral arrangements, candles or vintage items like decorative bird cages are popular options that you can try. It is vital that the centrepiece ...
... does not take up too much space or stop people from seeing across the table, so keep it small and simple as much as possible.
Lighting
Lighting is a great way to set the mood. LED candles on each table can create an intimate setting. You can consider LED lights that float in water, LED tea lights or LED letters for each table.
Napkins
Often the most overlooked aspect, the napkins are an easy way to inject colour into the decorations (especially if you have white table cloth). You could also have these folded into origami to impress your guests further.
Chairs
It is not just the tables that you must address; you also need to work on the chairs. Having proper chair covers not only allow you to continue with your theme, but they also improve comfort. Sashes are another quick and easy way to decorate the chairs.
Other Decorations
The above covers the basics, but you can then add personality and style using some extra decorations. You can include balloons, rose petals, scatter crystals, decorative birds, crystal chains, ribbon and feathers. It is important not to overdo it with these decorative touches as you do not want the room to feel cluttered. You should also make sure that your guests can walk around the room with ease.
These are the key areas that you need to plan when decorating the wedding reception room. Each table should be attractive and welcoming, plus everything should fit within the theme or colour scheme that you have chosen to create a beautiful, consistent and happy space.
