Diamond wedding rings come in different shapes, sizes and settings. Here is a collection of our five favorite ring settings designed to awe. We also included the design elements of each one.

Shared Prong Settings
The shared prong setting gets its name from prongs of metal placed between two stones. In a variation of the classic prong setting, prongs are wrapped around the crown of the stone to secure it properly. This type of setting minimizes the presence of metal, allowing more light to pass through a diamond or gemstone. For max sparkle, try a shared prong diamond ring, where the diamond appears to float above the band.

Channel Settings
This setting features a channel as the name suggests. After each diamond is placed in the new channel, the stones are secured in place by hammering the upper sides of the channel walls. The gemstones or the diamonds are secured in place between vertical metal walls, which create a smooth channel. In this contemporary setting, the stones are laid side by side with no metal in between. Why not try this style with diamonds embedded into a grooved channel of the ring’s ...
... band?

Bar Channel Settings
Similar to the channel setting, the bar setting has diamonds set between bars, where they are first nested in grooves and then overlapped by metal with the help of a hammering tool. In this safer version of the traditional channel setting, diamonds are secured in place between two vertical metal walls on either side of each diamond. Who wouldn’t love flaunting a lovely ring with a sparkling row of bar-set diamonds in it?

Pave Settings
The pavé setting pronounced “pa-vay,” is derived from the French word meaning ‘to pave’ as in paved with diamonds. By closely setting small diamonds together with minimal visibility of the tiny metal beads or prongs holding the stones in place, the effect is a continuous and gorgeous sparkle!

In this elegant setting type, diamonds or gemstones are set low and very close together using tiny beads, making it resemble pebbles. The surface of the ring appears to be encrusted with stones, exuding a brilliant sparkle. No one will be able to take their eyes off a ring with pavé-set diamond detailing!

Bezel Settings
The bezel setting features a metal rim encircling the sides of a gemstone and extending slightly above it. The rim or collar can stretch around the gem's entire circumference or around only a portion of it. This is a versatile choice for any type of stone and is ideal for those leading an active lifestyle. A ring with a bezel setting promises maximum light play, and accommodates a variety of wedding band styles to tuck underneath.

We hope this article helps you find the best setting for your ring. If you still have problems picking the setting, just remember that there is no ring setting that is superior. It’s just a matter of taste and choice!
