A Guide To The Scheme Of Ca, The Toughest Exam Of India

With emerging trends, the students of today’s date have no dearth of choices regarding their career. A lot of new fields are emerging and the students make choices on the basis of their demands from the job only.
One such highly lucrative and income accruing career option is CA. Many aspirants are making their move towards this career field.
The initial level to get into CA is through CPT exam.
CPT or Common proficiency Test is conducted by Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for admission to CA course. The exam is conducted for induction of 12th Passed students into CA Studies. The syllabus covered under this first exam is:
• Fundamentals OF Accounting
• Quantitative aptitude
• Mercantile Law
• General Economics
• General English
• Business Communications and ethics
Now, the candidates who have cleared the CPT exam are considered eligible for the next attempt which is Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC). Only 30% of the total candidates who have appeared for CPT could make through it and sit for the higher level. IPCC could be taken after ...

IPCC has two groups of seven subjects. Group – I consists of four subjects and Group – II of three subjects.
Group I:
• Accounting
• Business Laws, Ethics and Communication
• Cost Accounting and Financial Management
• Taxation
Group II:
• Advanced Accounting
• Auditing and Assurance
• Information Technology and Strategic Management
Each subject is of 100 marks and those who have scored 40% marks in each subject and 50% in aggregate only are considered eligible for next exam.
Now, the qualifying candidates appear for the last exam which is the final CA exam, one of the toughest exams in the world.
Any person, who has passed both the groups of IPCC, can take the Final Examination. This exam consists of two groups of four subject search.
Group I:
• Financial Reporting,
• Strategic Financial Management,
• Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics,
• Corporate and Allied Laws
Group II:
• Advanced Management Accounting,
• Information Systems Control and Audit,
• Direct Tax Laws
• Indirect Tax Laws.
