Diamonds may be the most precious stone for all purposes; may it be industrial or jewelry. They have their position reserved for ever and they say, “Diamonds are forever.” True they are forever and nothing can challenge them. There is one element that surpasses the value of diamond and that is human ingenuity. Human skill can add value to anything and can add beauty and grace to any material.

We find this element in clay beads. Clay may be the commonest thing on earth and it is clay all around us. Human ingenuity has given value to this common thing, first in shape of utensils and house hold items, then in form of bricks to construct houses. The decoration aspect was also not neglected. From ordinary clay utensils, Chinaware was invented and the clay got more beautiful with the touch of human hands.

Clay beads are also very common and they are seen often in some use and some shape. May be the farmers sew them on a strap and put this strap around the neck of their animals to adorn them. This is not the only use, we see the tribal people in African countries wearing these beads around their neck and around their wrist for beautification. Making beads of clay, quoting them with glass powder and baking them in fire give them a beautiful look. You can have them in any color and any size. Well this was in the start of clay baking art.

Now we have ceramics which has given a very refined shape to these clay items. We have them made in any shape, size and color. They have taken very delicate miniature shape made extremely with fineness. In this form these clay beads really a beautiful look and make the onlooker amazed how beautiful shape clay can take. It is the only round shape that we should count as beads; they can be cornered, flat, oval or anything spread in a regular pattern. These clay beads have many uses but one of them is in making the earring hooks. They are made in very fine shape and size and added with other clay made pieces like a flower, a leaf or a bunch of beads like bunch of grapes. They are given beautiful shapes and very tiny sized to emulate something very costly but in cheap price. It is the artistic skill that makes it valuable otherwise clay would remain clay lying in the query.

We can see very beautiful earring hooks hanging under the ears in shape some clay beads and ending with a tiny flower again made of clay. They are colored so close to their natural color, they look real and the beauty is they always remain fresh. They will never fade or whither. The clay beads get a permanent life with touch of human hands. The person wearing earring hooks may die and dissolve in mud but the clay beads will stay fresh and shining with their glaze.
