This is then followed by a minute of silence for reflection. Then the person is bid farewell with commendation.
The final tribute is the committal when the coffin is lowered into the grave at a burial and the curtains closed around the coffin at a cremation. This is the most solemn moment of the service.
Hinduism binds the dead person to be burnt. After the death friends and family of the deceased person along with a priest prepares the body and a procession the ground where the body would be cremated or burnt. Hindu rituals and customs are followed. At the burial site, mainly the male mourners are present and the eldest son takes charge of the final rite of lighting the pyre. After the cremation, the ashes are collected in an urn and immersed in a holy river.
This is followed by other rituals till the soul rests in peace.
