4 Local Seo Strategies

What many people fail to realize is that you don’t just hire an SEO Company in Phoenix to take the world by storm. In fact, many companies never have these aspirations. Instead they want to be discovered on a slightly more local level. This is why Local SEO is important. On this page I want to give you a couple of ideas on how you can give your SEO campaign in the local area a flying start. Your Phoenix SEO company will use all of these ideas.
1. Get a Google Places account. This is a requirement if you want to rank for Local SEO. You see, if you want to appear in the search engines under the local searches then you need to have a complete Google Places account filled in. If you don’t then NOBODY will find you online. It really is as simple as that. If you don’t know how to fill in all of the information (and it can be pretty complex!) then I suggest that you get in touch with a Phoenix SEO company who will be able to do it for you!
2. Put your address on your website. You will be surprised at how few people actually remember to do this. Remember, when the search engines are looking to rank you in the search engines under the local searches they actually need to know where you are based. If you don’t say that you are based in Phoenix then they won’t know this!
3. Get a social media account! You will want to actively update Twitter and Facebook at the very minimum. This is going to be beneficial to you in a couple of ways. Firstly, you will be able to keep your customers and clients up to date pretty easily. Secondly, the search engines are going to be able to ascertain exactly where you are located, and thirdly, you will be able to start building up your link portfolio. As you know, having links is incredibly important to a successful SEO campaign. Nothing is more lucrative nowadays that links through social media networks, and if you don’t have a social media account then you will not be able to obtain these at all!
4. Get on as many local business directories as possible! This is going to help in a few ways. Firstly, it is going to provide your customers with a new way of finding you online. This is of course very important as the more business the better right? Secondly, it is going to give you a cool little link on something that is related to your local area. As I have mentioned previous times here, you need to let the search engines know in as many ways as possible about where you are actually located! Business Directories are probably one of the best ways of doing this. You may also want to try and get on more general niche directories too, just for that extra link and more ways for customers to find you.
