To be specific, psychotherapy can help you resolve conflicts, relieve stress or anxiety, sleep better, learn to manage unhealthy reactions, come to terms with a serious health problem, and even recover from abuse. In some cases, it can even be as effective as medications such as antidepressants. With that in mind, psychotherapy alone may not be enough to alleviate the symptoms of a mental condition. Medications or other treatments may be necessary depending on the situation.
