Writing An Article Is Like Crocheting A Doily

"Ya won't Getter Done" until you give it your undivided attention. I decided that one day I would learn how to crochet. It wasn't hard because of years of watching my mother crochet when I was growing up. I made a special trip to Walmart to find the right thread and tools. I had everything I needed to get started. I fired up my computer looking for free crochet patterns and I found plenty of them.
I started my first doily. Before I got finished I would get side tracks with another pattern. Next thing I knew I had about a half a dozen doilies started and none finished. My mind was bouncing off the wall with yarn, colors and patterns. So what I did was picked up one doily, found the pattern and forced myself to complete it. It was tough but after completing 3 or 4 beautiful doilies It became easier and easier to complete a pattern before going to the next one. Focus is important.
When I started writing articles, promotional flyers or anything that had more than three sentences, I was in trouble. I would repeat myself over and over, get off the subject, fractured sentences, bouncing off the wall. My hubby (retired school teacher) decided I needed a proof reader in the worst way. For a long time he did the proof reading as I learned from his editing.
I decided, if I am going to get into Internet Marketing I needed to learn how to write. I need to quit bouncing off the walls and focus.
It took me a long time to get into Internet Marketing. Many people are still using snail mail and promoting those little money games that do not work nor make them money. I like the old fashion way of selling and promoting because it seems so much warmer and friendlier. The internet seems so cold and unfriendly. I love talking to people and getting acquainted. Learn about their lives and how they work. But is has its pitfalls. Since I have learned more about the internet and how to market on the Internet, it seems to be the way to go. My first insult in internet marketing was I was told to brand myself. Ouch! I thought branding was for cattle. I am not a cow. Sooooooo, I resigned myself to be branded, or brand my product. I guess it would hurt less to brand my product so, out with the branding Iron. And here we go...
First of all my time is worth something, however, I think there are good people out there looking for a way to make money who don't have a lot of money to spend. I am not a big Guru who thinks I am worth a million dollars. I am an every day person who is making it a little at a time. I am working with the fact that I want to learn internet marketing and I don't have a lot of money to start with. I found books and information I wanted. I found courses I would like to have had the money to buy. I just didn't have the money to buy them. So I have built my business on numbers. I started one learning experience with a course that a top notch earner guru and it cost $35.00 per month. I thought that was fair enough so I signed up. Next thing I knew it was a little more money here and a little more money there, I didn't have the extra money so I dropped out. It was too much information to fast and more money before I started earning any money to help pay for it.
Internet marketing can get expensive. $20.00 per month for a website, $20 per month for an auto responder, $35 per month for a lead capture page, $50 to $100 for month for advertising, $100 per week for pay per click ads more money to track my ads and so on. You start adding up those $10, $15, $20 per month and it gets expensive especially for someone just starting out. No one looks at it from the point of view of a new beginner and especially one who has very little money to begin with. I would rather sell my information for a small amount; let's say $17.95 to 2000 customers instead of $57.95 or even $27.95 to 1000 customers. Once the information is compiled there is very little cost to it. Now there is another side of the coin. If it is too cheap than people start saying, "It must not be very good it is to cheap." Internet marketing is NOT cheap if done correctly. My theory is helping some one get started and they will comeback and purchase from me again.
When I got started I had $10.00 in my pay pal account and $36.00 in another payment processor. It was not enough in either account to do anything constructive. So I started using free services. That was a lot of time wasted that could have been useful in other areas. But it can be done. It is just finding out what, when, where, and how. Get Focus and complete the job.
