Next, place the plastic line end into the cold water supply and tighten it with a compression nut. Make sure that the cold water supply line is shut off.

Final Step

While installing a water filter under sink, ensure that the filter is connected to the cold water supply line. This is important because the filter will not function efficiently if you connect it to the hot water supply line. Ensure that you connect the top by attaching one end of a flex line to your kitchen faucet. Once this is done, you can take the other end of the line and attach it to the external portion of the filter.
