7. Pratapgarh Fort - Located 24 kms west of Mahabaleshwar this fort was built in 1656. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja. The fort comprises of two parts – upper fort which is built on a hilltop and lower fort on the South and the East. Inside the fort complex is situated Bhavani Temple and the tomb of Afzal Khan. The fort is historically significant and bears witness to the Battle of Pratapgarh between Shivaji and Afzal Khan on November 10, 1659.

8. Arthur's Seat - Located 12 kms from Mahabaleshwar is Arthur's Seat named after Arthur Malet who was the first man to build house at this point. Perched at a height of 1470 meter above sea level tourists can clearly notice from this place the geographical distinction between the Konkan and the Deccan territories.
