Dangers exist everyday in the construction industry from equipment malfunction to falling debris. As a result, construction workers need to consider safety precautions before starting any job as well as remain on the forefront of a construction worker’s mind during the job. One area that is often overlooked is protection from working all day in the sun.

OSHA has recognized yet another serious concern for workers who spend extended periods of time in the sun and is warning workers to protect themselves when in such extreme exposure. Without taking appropriate precautions, exposure to the sun creates working conditions that pose a risk of serious harm. In an in their effort to protect the right of workers to work in a safe place, OSHA understands the importance of protection in the sun.
