Waste management in Oman has become a pressing issue as the country faces increasing waste generation, particularly plastic waste, amid rapid urbanization and industrial growth. According to a study by Oman Environmental Services Holding Company SAOC (be&#39;ah), the Sultanate produces about 2.3 million tonnes of plastic waste annually. This waste has the potential to generate significant economic returns if recycled locally, with an estimated annual revenue of RO 530 million. However, Oman faces several challenges that hinder its ability to effectively manage waste and tap into these opportunities.</description>
