The parents can decide to use either coercive or non-coercive discipline practices based on the age of their children. However, is more appropriate for the parents to get their children to listen and understand rather than taking corrective measures that are coercive. This discussion identifies three corrective practices used by parents which include; setting rules and giving directions, teaching consequences and corporal punishment.</description>
