Do you remember those days when folks used to write in their diaries every night just before they went to bed? They would write about what they did that day, what they liked and what they didn’t like and all their impressions of the day. Costs of paper have risen astronomically all over the world, and have driven all the diary-writing people to look for other means that don’t cost them money. Okay, maybe that’s not really the reason people blog! Let me start with telling you what the term “blog†means – it’s just your own space online. But, it is not your private space. Whatever you write can be seen and read by other people. Of course, you can control who can read what you write and who cannot. So, in a sense, it becomes your private space on the web and you can write about whatever you want. What you write is called a blog, and if you write about shopping, then it is called a shopping blog.
Blogging has become so common these days that you can find blogs from almost every famous personality, as well as from experts in many different subjects. Some people have a special interest in shopping whenever they feel like it, and they like to maintain their own shopping blog to let other people know about the latest trends in shopping and fashion. It makes for a lot of interesting reading to see what people buy and to try to understand the lifestyles of the rich and famous. That does not mean that blogging is only for the rich and famous – anybody can blog. Anybody can blog about anything! And, it’s free!
Some big companies even encourage their customers to have a shopping blog of their own so that they can write about their experiences while they were shopping. Over a period of time, each blog or blogger starts to get a following of their own, and people who are interested in the topic will come again and again to read your blog! In this way, a shopping blog can be a source of vital information for fellow shoppers. You might even have people who come to read about your ratings of different shopping centers and then decide where they would like to go for their own shopping.
A shopping blog can be a place from where you convey your own ideas and impressions of other people. It can also be a source of earnings for you. You can make money from your blog by displaying relevant targeted ads on your blogs. You get paid every time somebody clicks on an ad that is displayed on your blog! Isn’t that a great way of making money? If you are one of those people who has a large online following, then you make that much more money online. Best of all, it’s legal and it’s free!
