Large and small organizations, business and government need to know why, not just what, is happening in relation to their business in order to survive in the ever-changing global landscape.

Leximancer provides deep, meaningful and actionable insight by giving you the root cause of events or behaviors. Through a rigorous scientific process, Leximancer drills into textual data: documents, e-mails, call center transcripts, blogs, Web sites, etc., and extracts the main concepts, themes and causal relationships to provide the information needed to make critical decisions.

By extracting root cause meaning from the vast amount of data currently scattered across the Internet and locked within the enterprise, Leximancer enables professionals to determine "why" and not just "what."

The Leximancer software finally allows an organization to gain a solid return on investment for all the resources spent on dedicated e-mail addresses, focus groups, recordings, transcribing call center notes and other feedback forums.
Traditional software that examines documents distorts your findings because it forces you to create ...
... pre-defined categories. This type of software looks for what you tell it to, rather than finding what is there, thereby imparting a bias. The power of Leximancer is that there is no bias to the insight and analysis. Without pre-defined categorization, it looks at all the data and provides unbiased results, giving you a truly clear picture.

Leximancer is language independent. The only requirement before working in a specific language is the creation of a stop list (a list of words that you would not want to analyze - in English: a, and, the etc.). To date we have created these in English, Spanish, French, German, Russian and Swedish to name a few. We'll be adding languages as we move forward, and if you have a specific language need, please let us know.

The Concept Map is the heart of Leximancer. It presents your data in an interactive graphic map that clusters key themes together, lists all the key concepts identified in the data and the statistical co-occurrence of concepts. Leximancer automatically generates a thesaurus for each concept that then enables a powerful, implicit search (i.e. searching the corpus under investigation for the intersection of two thesauri rather than simply two keywords). The pathway analysis capability identifies root causes of specific events and provides provenance via the original text from documents that the pathway references.

You've got data in Word, text and PDF documents, call center notes, qualitative survey data, e-mails, HTML and Excel spreadsheets throughout your organization. The problem is, you can't access it in a meaningful way. Leximancer allows you to use data from various internal sources to create one report that reveals the critical insight that is currently locked away.

Leximancer version 3.0 also facilitates sentiment analysis. Utilizing a pre-existing set of seed sets for favorable, unfavorable, strong and weak tones, Leximancer will automatically analyze sentiment within the data under investigation. What's more, with user-assistance, these seed sets can learn and adapt to the data. A real example: during a recent analysis of McDonalds' blog data the unfavorable seed set learned that "cholesterol," while not originally defined, was always used in an unfavorable way and, as such, it was added to the unfavorable seed set for sentiment analysis.
Internal data is critical to gaining the insight you need and to gain actionable intelligence, but what are key audiences, commentators, bloggers and competitors saying about you online? Leximancer allows you to get information from Web sites and blogs and have the information analyzed the same way as internal data.
