When it comes to plastic surgery, Korea is the absolute mecca for those looking to achieve their ideal appearance. Out of the many different cosmetic surgery procedures on offer in the world's plastic surgery capital, abdomen liposuction is among the most sought after. Liposuction is the process of removing fat from a specific area of the body, such as the abdomen, thighs, hips, arms, buttocks, or even the neck, to remove excess or unwanted volume to shape or contour the chosen area. It is also referred to as body contouring and lipoplasty.

While liposuction does help reduce the volume of a particular body area, it isn't technically a weight-loss method or even an alternative to weight loss.
However, it does help improve the body's shape after going through bariatric procedures like gastric bypass surgery and a good exercise and diet routine. Many plastic surgery doctors in Korea recommend liposuction for removing fat in areas of the body that don't seem to respond to diet and exercise.

Abdomen liposuction is a commonly requested procedure because the abdominal area is one of the most difficult parts of the body to work out and keep in shape. After abdominal liposuction (or most any kind of liposuction), the skin can be expected to mold itself to the contours of the newly treated areas. Patients with good skin elasticity and tone will likely get smooth-looking results. However, if the treated area has poor elasticity, the skin may appear loose. While liposuction does reduce the volume of fat and helps create better contours in the treated area, it doesn't improve cellulite dimpling and other irregularities in the skin surface; in the same way that it cannot do much about stretch marks.

To be an ideal candidate for abdomen liposuction, one must be in good health and without any condition that could complicate surgery. Some barriers to liposuction include coronary artery disease, restricted blood flow, diabetes, and a weak immune system.
