AHAs are among the most well-researched group of skincare ingredients. Glycolic acid is a water-soluble alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA), derived from cane sugar. This is also one of the alpha-hydroxy acids best known and commonly used in the skin care industry. Origopharma provides the best Glycolic Acid for Skin Care in India. So, why is this exactly so popular?
Two of my favorite toner's Glycolic acid: Pixi Glow Tonic and Olliza
How does it work?
Glycolic acid is assumed to promote a progressive weakening of the cohesion of the intercellular material of stratum corneum ( SC) at low concentration (2-5 per cent), resulting in uniform exfoliation of its outermost layers (the stratum disjunctum). At this type of chemical exfoliation, glycolic acid is incredibly effective because it has one key advantage over other AHA's – it is a tiny molecule.
The way the acid interacts with the skin layers is extremely complex (and is still being investigated), but one of the ways it makes the skin appear more plumper and less dry is by increasing cell turnover. ...
... It helps to break the bonds that bind the skin cells together, allowing dead skin cells to slough off faster than they would alone. This also gives space for the formation of new cells.
Glycolic acid also promotes the production of more collagen on your skin. Collagen is the protein that gives the skin its firmness, elasticity and plumpness. (Collagen is also the protein that gives your bones and connective tissues strength.) As you age, the development of collagen naturally slows. It is also harmed by unnecessary exposure to the sun. The daily use of glycolic acid will help prevent this breakdown of collagen
What is it doing for your skin?
Glycolic acid is a popular ingredient due to its ability to exfoliate the skin chemically very well and so it is mostly used in anti-aging products as it can help smooth fine wrinkles and enhance the tone and texture of skin. It also plumps the skin, and helps to increase rates of hydration. You can use Tan Removal Herbal Cream in India to prevent sun tan from face.
However, it is not merely an anti-aging treatment, it is often used to fade minor hyper pigmentation too. As this is an efficient exfoliator, the frequent use of glycolic acid can help to brighten the content of the text. It is this exfoliating property which makes it an effective preventive against incubated hairs. If you have large pores, glycolic acid can also help to make those appear smaller.
Many products for acne treatment contain glycolic acid, too. It is not the most effective remedy for acne but glycolic acid may help keep pores clear of blockages, preventing the development of come dones, blackheads and inflamed breakouts.
While several sources say that glycolic acid gets rid of wounds, that's not fully true. Glycolic acid may lighten the dark discolorations left by acne or other wounds, and can soften the appearance of raised scars and hardened scars, but it won't make them go away. For more effective treatment, your best choice will be glycolic acid peels of competent intensity or a completely different scar treatment altogether
