Umrah is that sacred journey which is the dream of every Muslim. It has a slight difference from Hajj, which is performed on specific days. However, Umrah can be offered at any time of the year except those days. To visit a crowded area is referred to as Umrah in Arabic. All believers leave their family members, loved ones and their home for the sacred desire of traveling to Kaabah called the House of Allah. Although Umrah primarily includes visit and Tawwaf around the Holy Kaabah along with some other sacred rituals at various historical and religious spots, however, believers in Islam start planning to pay a visit to the majority of the places in Makkah as well as Madinah. As far as Makkah is concerned, it is considered the holiest city in Islam. So there exists a large number of must-visit places in Makkah when going for the Umrah trip.
Places to visit

1. Masjid al Haram (Holy Kaabah)

Masjid al-Haram is the largest mosque in the world with the capacity of accommodating about 3 million people in it at the same time. The holy well of Zamzam is also present in Masjid al-Haram, which contains the holy water which the pilgrims take back to their home as a beautiful gift for their loved ones. This water has religious as well as historical significance and is considered to cure a large number of diseases. This is the mosque where the most important event of Umrah called Tawwaf takes place around the center point called Kaabah. Another important place in the grand mosque is the place where the Black Stone is embedded. This is the place that is respected and kissed by the holy pilgrims during Tawwaf as is believed to be done by the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

2. Jabal al Noor containing Cave of Hira

The cave of Hira has a special place in Islam. This was the place where the Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to retire for days and even months in the remembrance of Allah Almighty and is also the place where the first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed upon him (PBUH) by Jibrael (AS).

3. Masjid e Taneem

Masjid e Taneem, which is also known as Mosque of Hazrat Aisha (RA) and is only about 10 miles away from Makkah and is considered as a Meeqat for the local pilgrims. The reason for its association with Hazrat Aisha (RA) is that Holy Prophet (PBUH) asked her to assume Ihram at this place while entering Makkah from Madinah. Amazing and fascinating wuzu and ablution facilities are arranged for people at this mosque now to assume Ihram.

4. Tents of Mina

Mina is also an amazing place to be visited during Umrah and Hajj and is most commonly known as the city of tents. The reason for this name is because it contains approximately 100,000 well perfumed air-conditioned tents for the holy pilgrims for Hajj. Both men and women cannot live together in the tents of Mina.

5. Al Wahaba Crater

This Crater is situated in the north-east of Makkah and is a fascinating spot for the holy travelers. The reason for its beauty is its location being surrounded in a circular region by hills of about 850 feet. In the center of these hills lies a circular pit of radius 1 mile which is filled with water during rainy days and becomes cracked and dried in hot weather conditions. If you plan to avail the exciting Umrah packages 2020 then don’t miss to visit this eye-catching spot.

6. Valley of Arafat

Valley of Arafat is also an amazing place containing Jabal e Rahmah or Mount of Rahmah and is situated about 12 miles away from Makkah. The splendid mosque called Masjid e Nimra is also present in this valley. The pilgrims of Hajj are supposed to spend time worshipping at this place as the Holy Prophet (PBUH) spent time in solitude while remembering his Creator.

7. Muzdalifah

The flat land which is present between the tents of Mina and the Valley of Arafat is called Muzdalifah, where the holy pilgrims are supposed to spend time and gather stones or pebbles to throw at the place called Jamarat assuming that the stones hit the Satan or the evil. No special arrangements for sleeping are available here and the pilgrims are supposed to sleep in open.

8. Jamarat

An important part of Hajj is to stone the devil that involves throwing pebbles at a place called Jamarat, which consists of three high walled pillars. These used to be three huge pillars as far as 2014 but now they are replaced by high walls for the purpose of security of the holy pilgrims. These walls can be named as Jamarah e Sughra, Jamarah al Wusta, and Jamarah ul Kubra.

9. Well of Tuwa

Bir Tuwa also is known as Well of Tuwa is present in one of the valleys of Makkah and used to be a deserted spot but is now crowded by huge buildings. It is reported that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) spent a complete night at this well and used its water in the morning to perform wudhu for Namaz while entering Makkah.
