Corporate Support Encourages Non-profits
The development sector includes many organizations that are constantly striving to create a positive change in the society by uplifting the downtrodden. Also known as an NGO (non-governmental organization), these establishments raise funds to resolve issues that are faced by the beneficiaries that they cater to. With CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) becoming an inevitable part of corporates’ yearly actions, the two kinds of organizations are steadily fostering a stronger bond, one that only brings more aid and assistance to the disadvantaged. Read on to know how corporates are using effective mediums to support non-profits.
Employee Engagement Encourages Participation
Many corporates spread awareness among their employees regarding the non-profits they support, via mailers and mass messages, or even use platforms like team meetings (quarter or annual), to create a buzz. To help the employees actively participate, many corporates organize one-day volunteering programs or spread the word about how employees can help the respective NGO - collect material for donation, distribute mid-day meals, monetary donations ...
... etc. Employees are encouraged to be more involved in the development sector.
Large-Scale Events Multiply Supporters
Corporates passionately utilize large-scale platforms to promote their support towards the respective organization, raise awareness, and raise funds for the NGO and its programs. These platforms include marathon events, cultural events, office events, sponsoring a fundraiser etc. Corporates have the capacity to raise a generous amount of donations, and surely invite more supporters to join in the initiative.
Corporate Matching Creates Effective Results
Many corporates carry out fundraisers and urge the patrons to donate generously; many times, the host-corporate decides to add an incentive that the company will match the final count. Same is applied to payroll contribution too, where employees are urged to donate a small amount of money (without a minimum amount) from their salary which is directed towards a social cause of their choice. The final amount is matched by the company and the lump sum amount is credited to the non-profit. It is to be noted that the non-profits are requested to regularly share progress reports, feedback, impact images and videos, volunteer testimonials etc. This motivates people to help NGOs bring change into the lives of more disadvantaged people.
