High quality, powerful and pocket friendly - but not perfect
Sony's Xperia 5 is priced at £699 in the UK. For an extra £29, you can buy the iPhone 11, and then spend £30 less, you can buy the Galaxy S10e, or your main competitor, Plus 7 Pro, for the same cash.

In this competition, the latest Xperia not only needs exciting color choices, but also makes it popular (even if we only have black).

But we were impressed with the Xperia 5 one-week life, and the side-by-side comparison with Xperia 1, and other smartphones reached the fact that Sony performed very well.

But is this enough to convince you to deposit the best 700 banknotes into your company's safe?

Design : A little bit of BEZEL never hurts anyone

The Xperia 5's 6.1-inch screen is large, but not too big. Although the front looks a bit not bad, the border shows that it means that the phone's screen ratio is 81%, so it doesn't look very cutting edge. However, this is better than the relatively high price Pixels, and there is no trace.

Screen : OH-LED is Sony!

The Xperia 5's HDR OLED screen is undoubtedly the highest point – it's brighter than the other smartphone and has a higher definition than the phone.

It is easy to see in bright conditions and has excellent viewing angles and less color shift at extreme angles. With in-depth settings, you can customize the white balance of Xperia 5, activate the smart backlight control, hold the screen to put the screen to sleep, and switch to a dark theme, although it does not extend to the setup menu.

The aspect ratio of 21:9 is not as novel as when Xperia 1 was introduced, but when you watch 16:9, you still have to endure the clumsy border. Sony's video image enhancements make things very clear, and you don't see any black spots on other OLED screens, making Xperia 5 the best choice for watching movies and TV shows on the go.

Interface : Are you splitting comfortably?

Sony's Xperia 5 runs Android 9 and comes with an optional software version out of the box. Just check the other apps you want and then discard the rest of the apps, and Sony only has some of the required apps installed.

The core interface is very traditional Android: there is a Google screen with a large number of home screens that can load application shortcuts and widgets, an app tray and a notification bar.

The high display makes multitasking a breeze, which largely keeps things in good shape. You can scroll to the bottom of the bottom of the Twitter, while the YouTube video is at the top, and by default, the 21:9 multi-window shortcut on the home screen makes it easy to pair the split-screen app combinations.

Camera : Sony is the best

Considering that Sony provides sensors for many of the best mobile cameras, the odd thing is that its own mobile phones have never competed at the highest end, but the Xperia 5 has Sony's best on-board loggers to date.

Its trio consists of a 12MP (f / 1.6, 26mm) main camera, a 2x zoom 12 MP (f / 2.4, 52mm) camera (both with OIS) and a super wide angle, 12 MP (f / 2.4, 16mm) composition.

Performance : fast and flexible

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and 6GB of RAM, the Xperia 5 makes it easy to throw everything into it.

Optimized games seem to cause a sensation, although you will encounter black bars where they are not. Full support for DualShock 4 and PS4 remote playback, although video output is not supported, you can still stream console games to your phone, so you can't play FIFA on your TV in the hotel room.

Sony Xperia 5 Verdict

The powerful Xperia 5 features an epic display, rich gaming features and a camera that will satisfy both amateur snapshots and prospective filmmakers. Its rugged Xperia 5 is more than just a trivial biometric technology.
