The pursuit of 100% full-screen smartphones has become a troublesome journey. Annoying self-timer cameras and headphone speakers continue to hamper the simplicity and simplicity we desire.

There is no shortage of attempts to solve the problem. Screen notches, vibrating displays and pop-up cameras have all been proposed, but often introduce a series of problems of their own.

However, Asus has a new approach. ZenFone 6 solves this problem by completely abandoning the self-timer camera, while the rear camera unit rotates toward the front of the phone.

Design

Let us start with something unusual. ZenFone 6 is the flagship phone of Asus in 2019. Everything except this curious camera is a typical smartphone.

Made from a single piece of aluminum, this phone feels comfortable and feels as special as any other modern flagship product. Please note that ZenFone 6 can only be used for boring black or silver color schemes and will not be affected by the flashing reflective two-color.

Display

The front of the ZenFone 6 is your first impression, with an IPS display up to 6.4 inches. Although ...
... the resolution is 2,340 x 1,080 is not special, but its support for the HDR10 standard is. This means it can produce a variety of colors, bright white and dark black ink. The HDR-rich content on Netflix looks particularly good.

Specifications And Performance

ZenFone 6 is powered by Qualcomm's most powerful chipset, the Snapdragon 855. This is an eight-core processor clocked at 2.84GHz, with a more efficient 7nm manufacturing process, so it is much faster than last year's ZenFone 5Z. It has up to 8GB of memory and 128GB or 256GB of expandable storage.

In benchmarking, ZenFone 6 is faster than previous generation phones and uses the latest chips to provide similar levels of performance for most competitors. The Geekbench 4 single-core and multi-core CPU tests recorded 3,529 and 11,131 results, indicating that any product other than Apple and A12 Bionic can perform better.

Camera

Finally came to the unique selling point of ZenFone 6. Since there is no self-timer camera embedded in the front of the phone, how do you capture all the vanity shots of Instagram?

Well, Asus solved this problem by including a strange moving camera. Just open the camera app and tap the selfie button, or let the Google Assistant take a self-portrait. This causes the camera to rotate 180 degrees on its axis. It's that simple. Another benefit is that you can use the manual controls in the camera app to adjust the angle you think is appropriate.

It also allows automatic vertical and horizontal panoramic shooting, and the camera can move up steadily without moving the phone itself. This means you can use all of the advanced shooting modes that are normally abandoned on the front camera, such as time-lapse, night-time, and wide-angle. Plus 4K video recording at 60fps for electronic image stabilization.

Asus said that the camera body has passed more than 100,000 tests and is said to be the same as using the self-timer camera 28 times a day, 5 times a day. It also has a fall protection function that retracts into the hole if it is found to have fallen off.

Verdict

Asus offers two versions of ZenFone. 6. We tested the entry-level specification with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. This requires £499, which is a competitive price for competitors like other smartphones to continue to raise prices. The 8GB / 256GB version costs £100, but even this is not enough to undermine the competitiveness of ZenFone 6.

This is where the slotless phone will eventually go? Probably not, but not just a camera that can be rotated. ASUS's latest smartphones are the best, successfully offering a sublime, comprehensive package with little money.

I think the phone recycling website Handsetrecycle.com is a great place to sell my mobile for best price. My mobile phone sales process was very simple when I sold my phone, and I received the payment on the same day.

Therefore, I highly recommend the Handsetrecycle.com website for mobile phone recycling.
